Heads-up on XMR v8 support …

It’s been a while since I last posted (I’ve switched employers, and been rather busy in the next job …), and as I can see from the many emails I got quite a few people had already started to wonder whether I had disappeared from the face of the earth completely – and in particular, gotten a bit concerned what would happen with lukMiner once the upcoming Monero v8 fork will hit the road (which looks pretty soon now).

Thus – to hopefully put those fears to rest, here a quick heads-up: As of a few minutes ago I finally finished a first draft of the XMR v8 changes, and at least on the testnet they seem to be working fine. I haven’t done full testing and burn-in, yet, so final release may take a bit longer – but still: so far everything looks good for a “v8” version even before the actual switch will happen….

  1. Are you going to update the aeon algo ?? Some of us really want to mine aeon with phis!!!

      1. There was a hard fork on June 3rd, for ASIC resistance, AEON7 is now the algo. I would be mining it on PHI if you supported it.

      2. Same as what I just wrote to similar comment to Mulch (literally copy n paste 🙂 ) :
        Oh-kay ….. I’m a bit confused. Both Aeon and Trtl have been upated several months ago, and should already be running. WHen I read this earlier this week I thought I had maybe missed another fork, but I just double-checked the command line from the “supported coins” page, and it worked out of the box with latest version!?

  5. The updated cryptonight-lite algorithm is used for TRTL too! I’d love to point my Phis at AEON and TRTL. Thanks for your hard work lukminer!

    1. Oh-kay ….. I’m a bit confused. Both Aeon and Trtl have been upated several months ago, and should already be running. WHen I read this earlier this week I thought I had maybe missed another fork, but I just double-checked the command line from the “supported coins” page, and it worked out of the box with latest version!?
